Information in the HomeBill app

HomeBill does not require an account. Bills, transactions, amounts, dates, preferences, and other information you enter in the app are stored locally on your device. HomeBill does not operate a cloud account or receive this app data. HomeBill does not connect to your bank or make payments.

Your device and operating system control access to locally stored app data. If you uninstall the app, change devices, or reset your device, local data may be lost. Backups, if enabled through your device or operating system, are governed by that provider's settings and privacy terms.

Optional device sync

If you choose to pair devices and sync, HomeBill transfers selected transaction records directly between your paired devices over your local network. Sync is started by you, requires the other device to be running HomeBill, and does not use a HomeBill server, cloud relay, or account. Sync data is encrypted in transit. Your devices' local network addresses and the records you choose to sync are used to establish and perform that connection. Only pair devices you own or trust.

Pairing credentials are stored in the platform's secure storage where available. You can remove a paired device in the app. Local network access is used only when you start pairing or sync.

Notifications and camera access

If you enable reminders and grant the requested operating-system permission, HomeBill schedules notifications on your device. Reminder information is used locally to deliver those notifications; HomeBill does not use a remote push-notification service.

On platforms where QR scanning is available, you may grant camera access to scan a device-pairing invitation. The camera is used for that scan; HomeBill does not use it for advertising or analytics. You can also choose not to use camera-based pairing.

Your choices and privacy rights

You can choose what information to enter in HomeBill, whether to use device sync, and whether to grant optional camera or notification permissions. You can manage permissions through your device settings and remove local app data using the app or device controls available to you.

Depending on where you live, privacy laws may give you rights to request access to, correction or deletion of personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. To make a privacy request, contact [email protected]. You may also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

Children

HomeBill is a general household finance tracking tool and is not designed to collect personal information from children. Do not send children's personal information to HomeBill through support email.
